Hey guys, I know I’ve been MIA for the last two weeks! I’ve been running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to get a series of videos and tutorials ready for our new announ! Blue Minerals Antiquing Powder is finally here and available for Pre-Order on the Blue Minerals website! They are being released this friday (March 14th, 2014), and I am so freaking excited.
So, you likely have no idea what I’m talking about… if you do, then you were paying attention when I dropped a little hint 2 weeks ago when I introduced the Stephanie Set! I actually filmed a tutorial on how I created that look that will be coming out on Friday, plus another tutorial video on a new piece that I’m excited to show you tomorrow.
But here’s a sneak peek of the new piece anyways… her name is Antoinette, and she was created using Blue Minerals Antiquing Powder in Wrought Iron. I am absolutely obsessed with this color. I LOVE IT!
Anyways, so I’ve been messing around with the product and the 9 color options, and I have to say… I love this stuff. It’s easy to apply, gives a very authentic aged look that I love, It comes in 9 gorgeous colors that can be mixed to create even more custom colors, and you have so much control, you can even adjust the depth of color!
You can apply Blue Minerals Antiquing Powder in a bunch of different ways, but my favorite way is with Mineral Spirits. The technique I demonstrate is a little messy, so you definitely have to do it somewhere where you can easily wipe up the floor, but I think it creates the most authentic look. But more on that in the video tomorrow. Today, I have a video for you demonstrating the 9 different colors.
I wanted to give you a good description of each color and briefly go over what I feel like the colors are good for, and how easy they are to apply. Some colors are super easy to work with, and others are a little more challenging and tint the color of your paint more. So I wanted to explain the difference between the colors to help you – if you want to try it out – make a better decision on which color is best for your project.
