Day 5: How to Knit the Checkered Cable {For the Loom}

It’s Day 5 of our 31 days of knitting series, and today’s stitch is the Checkered Cable Stitch. This is the reverse stitch of the Chevron Rib stitch, and it’s a super easy & quick stitch!

MATERIALS USED IN THIS VIDEO:

Knitting Loom: Regular Gauge Kiss Loom {with 1 spacer in between the pins & the pegs} – We are working with just one side of the regular gauge modular loom.

Knitting Tools: We are using the knitting tool that comes with the kiss looms, but the tool that comes with your loom usually works best!

Ball of Yarn: We are using Manos Maxima 100% Merino Wool in the color “Coral”

WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS & CHART:

How to Knit the Checkered Cable Stitch for the Loom | Vintage Storehouse & Co.

  • Cast On: Multiples of 4 + 2 over a background of reverse stockinette stitch.
  • Row 1: K2, *C4F; Repeat from * to end of row.
  • Row 2: Knit
  • Row 3: *C4B; Repeat from * to last 2 stitches. K2
  • Row 4: Knit

Repeat Rows 1-4 until you’ve reached your desired length.
