Day 25: How to Knit the Double Basketweave Stitch {31 Days of Knitting Series}

Can you believe it’s almost the end of August? Where did the time go? For day 25 of our series, we chose the Double Basketweave stitch. It creates a really interesting textured basketweave pattern and it’s super easy to knit as it only uses knit and purl stitches!

MATERIALS USED IN THIS VIDEO:

Knitting Loom: Regular Gauge Kiss Loom {with 1 spacer in between the pins & the pegs} – We are working with just one side of the regular gauge modular loom.

Knitting Tools: We are using the knitting tool that comes with the kiss looms, but the tool that comes with your loom usually works best!

Ball of Yarn: We are using Manos Maxima 100% Merino Wool in the color “Sugar Plum”

WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS & CHART:

  • Cast On: In Multiples of 4 + 3
  • Row 1: Knit
  • Row 2: *P3, K1; Repeat from * to last 3 stitches, P3
  • Row 3: Knit
  • Row 4: Repeat Row 2
  • Row 5: Knit
  • Row 6: P1, *K1, P3; Repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K1, P1
  • Row 7: Knit
  • Row 8: Repeat Row 6

Repeat Rows 1-8 until you’ve reached your desired length.
