Day 3: How to Knit the Lattice Stitch {31 Days of Knitting Series}

It’s Day 3 of our 31 Days of Knitting Challenge and today’s stitch is called the Lattice Stitch. It’s a really fun cross-work stitch that looks somewhat similar to a basket weave. I think it would be gorgeous as a scarf! It’s also a pretty fun knit, but because you have to cable almost every stitch it’s a little bit of a s process.

HOW TO KNIT THE LATTICE STITCH {FOR THE LOOM}

MATERIALS USED IN THE VIDEO:

Knitting Loom: Regular Gauge Kiss Loom {with 1 r in between the pins & the pegs} – We are working with just one side of the regular gauge modular loom.

Knitting Tools: We are using the knitting tool that comes with the kiss looms, but the tool that comes with your loom usually works best!

Ball of Yarn: We are using Tosh Chunky 100% Merino Wool by Madeline Tosh in the color “Posy”

WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS AND CHART:

  • Cast on in Multiples of 4 + 6
  • Row 1: P1, *T2F, T2B; Repeat from * to last stitch, P1
  • Row 2: P2, *C2F, P2; Repeat from * to end of row
  • Row 3: P1, *T2B, T2F; Repeat from * to last stitch, P1
  • Row 4: P1, K1, P2, *C2B, P2; Repeat from * to last 2 stitches. P2
  • Repeat rows 1-4 until you’ve reaches your desired length.
