I’m so excited that Halloween is only a few more days away! Have you gotten your costumes ready yet? I know I’m a little behind in getting ready for Halloween, but I wanted to s with you this Gothic Inspired Halloween Wreath I made anyways. Better late than never, right?
I can’t tell you how long I spent wondering around the store trying to figure out how I wanted to make this wreath! I knew I wanted it to be somewhat “darker” looking – not the traditional orange and black color theme. I wanted it to be more elegant and romantic.
I spray painted the leaves of all the feathers black so that they didn’t look to vibrant and “alive”.
I just held them by the stem and used black spray paint, pushing really lightly so that not much paint came out at a time. This gave it a little bit of a spattered look on the petals. I left a little of the green color peeking through, but for the most part, the stems and underneath of the petals look black.
I did the same thing with the wood wreath and sprayed it black with just little bits of brown peeking through.
I added a small white bird peeking through behind the fers as well to give the extra little bit of elegance.
Can you tell I had a lot of fun taking photos of this wreath? How about you? Are you behind on getting ready for Halloween?
