This table was so cute I just couldn’t pass it up. I had been looking for a small Duncan Phyfe Table for a long time. When I found Aimee, she was pretty beat up. The top had a leather inlay that was beyond repair. I decided to remove the leather and just paint the wood underneath. I went back and forth on whether or not I wanted to put some wallpaper there – which I still think would be cute, but ultimately simplicity won.
I did however discover a new way to remove leather from furniture (which seems to be something I have been doing a lot of lately). Once you pull up the leather, you usually get left with a tone of sticky residue. I usually just sand this off. I HATE sanding. So I was super pleased to discover that you can actually just soak the residue in TSP and it will wipe right off. Score one for avoiding sanding!
I feel like this table is much bigger in person than it appears to be in photos. It has 2 drawers that work and 4 fake drawers on the sides. I just love the Duncan Phyfe style of furniture!
I didn’t end up doing anything too fancy with this table. I liked the simplicity of the candlelight color. It’s so warm and inviting!
