Oh how I miss refinishing furniture! 🙁 I really love the creativity involved, but lately I have been too busy with lots of other project and haven’t had time to restore any new piece of furniture. But that will all be changing soon and hopefully I will be able to get back to what I love!
Anyways,I want to introduce you to the Kenzie set. This set is actually my neighbors daughters bedroom set and we restored it earlier this summer. She was in the process of re-designing her daughters bedroom, and wanted to update these dressers as well. She painted the walls in her daughters room a light pink color, added a white tree and gorgeous teal and blue accents. It’s gorgeous! One day I’ll have to convince her to let me show it to you!
We used two of my favorite Sherwin Williams colors; Larchmere and Refresh . Then we painted the knobs the opposite color. We used VS Chalky Paint Powder so no sanding or priming was required, although we did sand out some of the dents since this piece is pine and dents really easily. Then we finished it off with VS Antiquing Powder in Wrought Iron. I think that extra step with the Antiquing Powder gave it just the perfect amount of “age” to still look “childish” but elegant!
