This weekend I thought it would be fun to revisit one of my favorite pieces because I noticed I never did a before and after post on it.
Take a look at this beautifully disgusting dining set before.
I swear I did not do this to these chairs….
The upholstery on these dining chairs was some of the most disgusting upholstery I’ve ever seen. Removing it was awful!
But once they had been stripped, painted and glazed I couldn’t have been more happy with the way they turned out.
Check out those carvings! The glaze just really made this piece stand out! The woman who purchased this set told me it reminded her of a set she had seen in France that she fell in love with, so when she saw this, she just had to have it! I’m so sad I couldn’t keep it :(.
Check out those legs!
This set also had an amazing inlaid wood top. It was completely ruined by the previous owner, so the entire thing needed to be striped and re- sanded. I used MinWax Gel Stain in “Hickory” to achieve that gorgeous color.
Oh and did I mention… I have a thing for pedestal tables. This one… yummy!
Hope you’ve enjoyed my little trip down memory lane! By the way… I did a complete upholstery series on how to reupholster these dining room chairs – Start to Finish.
